Wedding planning can be extremely exhausting and stressful. For months, sometimes years, you put so much effort and time into planning this ONE day. So, you need to make sure you, of all people, have an amazing time on the day of your wedding! Here are four tips that if you can fully execute on your wedding day, we guarantee you’ll enjoy this amazing day like you’ve always imagined.
Plan a fun, yet relaxing, morning
The morning of your wedding can be one of two things; either extremely fun and exciting, or nerve wracking and stressful. To be sure that your morning can be great, a little planning ahead will go a long way. First off, make sure any potentially stressful activities are taken care of or being taken care of by others. (For example: coffee runs, flower deliveries, luggage drop-offs – all things the bridal party, personal attendants or the parentals could help with!?) Plan on having a low-stress getting ready party or get-together, and just relax. Maybe even be pampered a bit?! It’s your wedding day after all! This should be one of the – if not THE – best days of your life, so let’s not cut corners here!
Stop to take a breath
Your wedding day can come and go so quickly you might barely get a second to look around and appreciate everything that’s going on during this big day. It’s definitely worth it to take a moment away from the crowd and take it all in. After all, this is the day you’ve been thinking about, talking about, and planning for what seems like an eternity!
It can be easy to forget to any and all meals on your wedding day. You’re going to be busy, so eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner aren’t exactly the first things on your mind, but trust us, you’ll need to eat!! Your wedding day is such a unique event, you’ll want to be sure to have energy and to feel good all day. I mean, who wants to walk down the aisle hangry!?
After all the formalities are said and done and all there’s left to do is dance, then do just that! Take advantage of this huge party you planned for you and your spouse! When looking back on your wedding day years from now, do you think you’ll be disappointed you didn’t spend more time at the bar? Probably not. This is 100% YOUR night, take advantage, and just let loose!
Be proactive in making sure that you do everything you can to have a great wedding day! Then get out there, execute and enjoy – you deserve it!
I am loving all these spring wedding videos that keep pouring in from our editors! <3 One of my absolute favorite things about my job as the Media Manager is watching the final product before I send it to our couples! To me, it is like reading a book because I easily get lost in each client love story and wedding day. I hope you enjoy watching these wedding highlight films as much as I did!
We had the pleasure twice this spring photographing and DJing past employees weddings. Matt and Tarah have been together FOREVER so we were ecstatic to find out they were finally tying the knot this year! Their wedding ceremony was held at Saint Ann Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Springfield in front of all of there family and friends. Afterward, the bride and groom celebrated with a reception at Old Towne Event Center. COMPLETE weddings + events family wish Matt and Tarah many years of happiness and success in there new journey in life together! CONGRATS!!!
We have a collection of spring wedding photos filled with those who opted for outdoor weddings with lush greenery, pastels or pops of color, and the most gorgeous bouquets that definitely do the season some justice. Meggan, Ben, and their kids were amazing to work with! This sweet family was full of laughter, smiles and silly faces as they vowed to start a new journey in life together. Congratulations Meggan and Ben it was COMPLETE weddings + events privilege to be apart of your special day!
Maybe it’s completely wrong to you to have anything but a wedding cake for dessert!? It’s a long-standing tradition along with the cutting of the cake, but as couples continue to customize their weddings, foregoing certain traditions is quite common. If you’re looking to do something different and memorable
(and cake just isn’t your thing), we’ve compiled desserts options to try at your own wedding, birthday or event!
These sweets could even be in addition to your cake if you’re wanting to provide another option for your guests! The only reasonable thing left to do next is continuing your research, and taste test some of these yummy treats!
We all have our typical #GettingReady routine, but on your wedding day, it might be difficult to execute your morning ritual. Someone else might be doing your hair or makeup, you may be staying at a hotel and your childhood home, and you most likely will just be greeted/photographed/questioned 45 times while you’re trying to get ready. #Distractions
Set your intention for the beautiful day! Think through your morning agenda ahead of time, and have someone you trust help you with making a schedule. This could be a parent, member of the wedding party, host couple, or personal attendant. Ideally, if they’re available on the day-of, have them share the schedule with your wedding party and keep time on the morning activities. You can then ignore clocks and avoid rushing, but also not be late. Brilliant.
Work with your photographer to decide how much time you’ll need for wedding pictures before your ceremony. Then, think backwards from there planning for a first look, putting your wedding dress or suit on, and ultimately what time you need to wake up to be ready for it all! Can someone say coffee ASAP?!
Some say it’s the most important meal of the day. We just say it’s not a good idea to skip it on your wedding day. Schedule someone to deliver you a filling protein shake, egg white sandwich or spinach omelet!
Where will you sleeping the night before and the night of your wedding? If you’ll need to pack a bag, be sure to figure out who can check in and deliver your things to your hotel room or suite. Make sure those room access keys get back to you or your partner as well!
Navigate through the logistics of every location you’ll be at. From the rehearsal dinner, to your hair appointment, to your photo op destinations, how are you handling transportation? It might be best to just leave your car at home or the hotel so you have it in the morning. In case of emergency: Taxi, Uber, Lyft or Best Man! 🙂
Staying focused on enjoying time with those around you that morning will result in more memorable moments. Let conversation keep your mind at ease or your favorite song might help you shake off any jitters. Incorporate things that you know you’ll enjoy during the morning of your wedding (think music, meditation or a certain meal) to make it that much more special. Getting ready is half the fun, so make it count!
